I am so happy to announce that the gorgeous Tokyo Hardcore book featuring Davey and Jeffree is now available. We just finished the two month TOKYO HARDCORE TOUR starting at our brand new flagship store in Milan, then stopping at our jewel box store in Soho, NYC and finally the grand finale last night at our LA store on Melrose avenue. Please be sure to check out K-Ron's buzznet page to read up on all that happened at the LA party. Its still a blur as we only arrived back in LA 3 days before the event and were working 12 hour days to prepare for it. Call me crazy, but its so important that our guests enjoy every detail of our events that we go to extremes to make all the over the top ideas we come up with come to life. On this tour we did an installation of the dead android scene in the TH Book. For some of our guests it was a bit shocking but most everyone loved seeing a page from the book come to life. Once the show was over our LA guest took turns posing as "Amethyst" our sweet android from Tokyo Hardcore, photobooth style which included a moment between Clint Catalyst and Audrey Kitching's shoe that will go down in history. The party was hosted by myself one of the stars of Tokyo Hardcore, the enigmatic and gorgeous Davey Havok. We were all disappointed that our other star, uber gothic tokyo hardcore villianess Jeffree Star was in London on tour and could not make it. If you have a chance to stop by our LA store this week please check out the exhibits from our book in the shop. You can also pick up a copy of the book. Stay tuned for a behind the scenes look at the making of the Tokyo Hardcore Tour right here on Buzznet. xoxo&******sparkles!! Tarina

Have not forgotten!

Hello Everyone in buzznet-land!

I wanted to let you all know that I have not forgotten about your questions ( I really really promise!!) and am planning to take them with me on my trip to Italy next week. While I am there we will videotape the answers to your questions, and then provide some behind the scenes footage of what happened during our trip. I am going for the official opening party of our new TARINA TARANTINO flagship store in Milan, Italy and am also going to check out Milan fashion week and then try to have some fun too.  Which means I am going to try to do a little bit of shopping, which never really happens much when I travel because they keep me so busy working.  But anyway, I can dream!  However I will insist on some downtime and  I will definately be visiting 10 Corso Como for the best cappucino and shopping in Milan. I am also dying to see the new Balenciaga flagship store which just opened.  For all of you anxiously awaiting the TOKYO HARDCORE catalog....you will have to wait a bit longer as the production on this glossy piece of eye candy is extra special and takes time so please bear with us! I promise it will be worth the wait! (and btw there is still one more teaser to go...so stay tuned!)  Meanwhile we are working on lots of new collections including our largest handbag collection to date. We already have a waiting list at the Melrose store for the TOKYO HARDCORE PINK BOX which is Hilary Duffs favorite new bag. They will be available at all TT locations as well as our website the beginning of October.  Hope you are all settling into fall, cooling off and trying to sparkle a little every day! xo&*** Tarina

*WARNING* The videos on this page are intended for mature viewers only!

I am so excited to join the Buzznet community and today we are launching the first teaser from our “behind the scenes of Tokyo Hardcore” documentary and catalog exclusively here on Buzznet.  It was so much fun working with Davey Havok, Jeffree Star and photographer Albert Sanchez to bring the Tokyo Hardcore world to life. Along with a team of more than 35 people (and lots of extras sitting around waiting and waiting) we shot the entire catalog in just two days.

We had hair stylists, makeup artists, prop stylists, clothing stylists and even a team of jewelry wranglers to keep the collections sparkling, organized and ready to go for each shot. There were multiple locations and lots of intense moments, but the delicious food from Tiara Caff Fred Eric and loud music kept everyone going. JS & DHX did alternating DJ sets with their Ipods providing us with the ultimate Tokyo Hardcore soundtrack that included Iggy Pop, the B52’s , PULP, Beth Ditto, and JS’s Electro mix (which I will fill you in on later).

One of the locations was at the Sparkle Factory building in downtown LA, a historic building which is also the future home of TT. Other locations included….well…I will just have to save that for next time! I will be revealing more behind the scenes teasers, footage and gossip weekly so please make sure to keep checking back to Buzznet and tarinatarantino.com for updates. Just one more thing! Here's Davey's commentary on the shoot (see below). Thanks Davey!

XO & Sparkles,

"It was an extreme pleasure for me to be a part of the Tokyo Hardcore Shoot. My friend Jeffree Star first turned me onto Tarina Tarantino's work a few years back and when I met the fabulous pink lady herself with her extremely endearing husband Alfonso at the Camille Rose Garcia reception a few months back. I was very pleased to make their acquaintance. Only a few days later did I receive a call from Alfonso. He was offering me the role of Tommy Jet in the Tokyo Hardcore shoot and I was thrilled. The combination of the setting, storyline, and a pop-tastic TARINA TARANTINO Jewelry had me sold immediately. Taking inspiration from the Tokyo scene, the shoot threw gender rolls into the Hollywood night sky and the whole shoot was something I'll never forget. Working with Tarina and Alfonso was a joy. Spending close to 48 nonstop hours with a small group of people allows everyone to get to know each other quite quickly and it was so refreshing to find that the artists behind TT were not only talented, but genuine and lovely people. Jeffree kept the shoot alive and buzzing - his fabulousness in action is a force to be seen! Sunnie, the model, was dazzling whilst being a pleasure to work with and I even got to do a little improv with Ed Rosenthal. The whole experience was an unforgettable great time, plus, I walked away with a one of a kind Tarina Tarantino toy (the likes of which I leave up to your imagination as I fear my mother might read this someday.) Still sparkling in the afterglow."

About Me:

TARINA TARANTINO

Known for her uniquely nostalgic yet modern designs TARINA TARANTINO has sparked a cult following that has spread globally. Established in 1995 with her husband and partner Alfonso Campos the company has grown into an international brand with stores in New York, Los Angeles, Milan, Tokyo and Osaka. The mid-nineties were the height of minimalism in the fashion world and Jewelry and accessories were virtually non-existent on the pages of fashion magazines. The TARINA TARANTINO collections were a breath of fresh air for customers who were tired of blending into the fashion landscape and quickly became favorites of celebrities like Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymoore as well as Hollywood stylists, costume designers and stylemakers. Her lifelong obsession with colorful sparkling Swarovski crystal gave way to jewelry pieces that featured her signature op-art color combinations becoming a trademark of her designs. During the course of her career Tarantino has been credited with creating trends like “hair jewelry” which brought embellished hair accessories back into the spotlight for the first time since the days of Marie Antoinette. Tarantino also created a revival of Lucite in fashion accessories and then invented a way to accessorize a purse with her “Bag Candy” collections in 2000. Soon after she was invited by Sanrio to makeover their 30 year old pop culture icon Hello Kitty, which resulted in the Hello Kitty Pink Head collections. Recently she was tapped by Mattel to create a collection of Barbie inspired couture jewelry. TARINA TARANTINO jewelry, handbag and lifestyle collections can be found in the best luxury fashion stores internationally as well as her trademark pink and green jewelbox boutiques in Los Angeles, New York, Milan, Tokyo and Osaka.
